Congratulations to the Finalists of the 2024 Jabuti Academic Award

The Scientific Dissemination Center of the Department of Experimental Psychology is pleased to congratulate Professor Gerson Tomanari, Professor Acácia Angeli dos Santos, and Professor Luciana Mourão for being among the finalists for the 2024 Jabuti Academic Award, for coordinating the book “Pós-graduação em Psicologia no Brasil: Percurso, Panorama Atual e Desafios”. Gerson Yukio Tomanari is a Full Professor at the Institute of Psychology of the University of São Paulo (IPUSP), coordinator of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior Laboratory, researcher and local coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology on Behavior, Cognition, and Teaching.

The Jabuti Academic Award, organized by the Brazilian Book Chamber with the support of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC) and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC), is an annual distinction for academic works published in Portuguese in Brazil. With the recognition of the book by Tomanari, Angeli, and Mourão, this award highlights a work that analyzes the current state of graduate studies in Psychology in Brazil, considering its historical development and prospects for evolution.

We invite the members of the department and the Institute of Psychology to read the book to understand the history and future of graduate studies in Psychology in the country, and we congratulate Professor Gerson Tomanari, Professor Acácia Angeli dos Santos, and Professor Luciana Mourão for this recognition.
